I have to confess that sometimes it is easy for me (Pastor Nick) to look past the single impact as I try to help strategize ways to make our church more sustainably impactful. But that is a mistake, and probably a little bit of a sin of pride. Pastor Karen encouraged me the other day by listing off 8 or 9 people that we feel the ministry of the church blessed and moved into deeper discipleship in real and meaningful ways under “our watch”. Real lives changed by our church.
It is easy to get fixated on what we want the church to be, for me that is reaching more people for God, but for you it might be something else, and miss what God is doing– even as we wait to see how God is going to work out some of the bigger things that we are hoping and praying for.
Pastor Karen and “Waymaker” are right– even when we don’t feel it, God is working. Even when I don’t look carefully enough to see it, God is still working. God has continued to do great things in people’s lives through our church. Praise God! He never stops working in churches that are faithful and faith-filled.
As we start preparing for kickoff Sunday, September 17th, we can know that God will continue to be faithful as we trust in his work at Orchard Covenant Church.
