Blessings to You OCC Family,
Though I’ve been away this week with my NAIITS doctoral Indigenous learning community in Canada, I’m still with you in heart and spirit. I’m grateful for technology that allows me to remain connected, even while away physically.
I’ve heard such wonderful things about Sunday, and I’m thankful for the Word Pastor Michael shared. He preached from John 17, where Jesus prays for all who would believe, including the future Church. That includes us. Jesus is making God known in the past, in the present, and in the days to come.
Pastor Michael asked a question that is still worth pondering: Could the God you’ve known be getting in the way of whom God longs to be in your life now?
For many, we hold on tightly to how we’ve experienced God in the past. Those moments definitely matter, and they have developed us into who we are now. And yet, the Holy Spirit is still moving, still revealing, still guiding us into the newness of God because God is active and living. It is out of God’s consistent love for us that we are invited to evolve and be led by God in new ways.
May we stay open in our hearts and vision. May we listen with fresh ears. May we welcome what God is showing us in this season.
Thank you for being a church that listens well, loves generously, and chooses to grow in faith together.
